RTP, Hit Frequency and Volatility: What They Mean
A game labelled 96% RTP is not promising to give you PHP 96 back from a PHP 100 session. The number describes a long-run relationship between stakes and payouts. It does not tell you how often a prize appears or when one will arrive.
What the percentage measures
RTP stands for return to player. It expresses a long-run average rather than a guarantee to an individual. The UK Gambling Commission explicitly distinguishes that average from a single playing session.
For illustration, a model with 96% RTP implies average payouts of PHP 960,000 against PHP 1,000,000 in total stakes over the relevant long run. The difference is PHP 40,000. This is a mathematical illustration, not an observed result, a required sample size or an assigned RTP for a game on JILI3.
Total stakes are not the same as a deposit
Money can be staked, returned as a prize and staked again. That means turnover can be larger than the money first transferred into an account. Applying an RTP percentage to the deposit alone misses that distinction.
Consider a purely arithmetic record: a PHP 100 opening balance, a PHP 10 stake and a PHP 6 payout leave PHP 96. Another PHP 10 stake increases cumulative stakes to PHP 20 even though no second deposit was made. This does not forecast what happens next; it shows why the quantities must be kept separate.
Three numbers that answer different questions
A payout percentage cannot substitute for a frequency or a distribution. Without the missing information, you cannot turn one of these figures into either of the others.

A losing run is not a repayment schedule
For random machines, the UKGC explains that previous wins or losses do not change the odds of the current game. A recent losing sequence is not a signal that the game owes the account money. Do not extend that statement blindly to every product: the source separately describes compensated machines.
Similarly, a published maximum prize is an upper limit, not a typical outcome. A video showing that prize supplies no frequency denominator: it does not tell you how many rounds occurred before the clip or how many sessions ended differently.
Keep the number with its configuration
When you note an RTP, keep the exact title, version and where the number appeared. Do not transfer it from a sequel or treat a search snippet as the loaded game's rule sheet. A percentage without that context is an incomplete reference.
If you only have a cover image or a supplier summary that omits RTP, leave the number unassigned. It is more useful to know which information is missing than to compare two invented percentages.
Common questions
Is 96% RTP a 96% chance of winning?
No. RTP relates payouts to stakes over the long run. The chance of a defined win is a different quantity.
Does a small payout mean I made a profit?
Not necessarily. In the PHP 10 stake and PHP 6 payout example, the balance falls by PHP 4 even though a prize was paid.
Can I know the next result from a recent-results list?
A results list reports past rounds. It does not by itself establish a predictive method or a guaranteed future result.

Use RTP to understand what kind of statistic you are reading, not as a session target. For any comparison, record the source and configuration, and leave unknown figures unknown.
